Revision Rhinoplasty

Revision Rhinoplasty (Secondary Nose Surgery)

Revision rhinoplasty is performed in two situations:

  1. Previous nasal surgery
  2. Traumatic injuries to the cartilage, bone, or skin
  3. If the previous surgery did not result in a deficiency of the nasal cartilage, the repair can be carried out using the existing nasal cartilage.
  4. To correct deformities, cartilage from the ear or rib may be used, depending on the specific defect.
  5. Necessary modifications may involve the tip of the nose, tip rotation, bony prominence and width, or the nasal wings.

The extent of nasal manipulation and the scope of surgery are generally determined based on tissue blood supply and are assessed by the surgeon.
